This time of year is so delicious.

For most of my Open Houses, I try to have a fire lit, and some hot chocolate ready to greet guests.

There are so many wonderful holiday events going on for the next two months. I thought you might want a list. In no particular order

Nov 17 The Santa Claus Parade in downtown Raleigh

Dec 1 Santa’s Workshop your children get to meet Santa and tell him what they are hoping for,  for Christmas. While they wait, there will also be a crafts station.Cary Teen Council is collecting nonperishable food. 10 AM to 12:30 PM

Dec 1 The Page-Walker Arts & History Center Holiday open house with carolers singing, horse-drawn carriage, treats, and fun for the kids Free 4 – 6 PM

Dec 1 The Cary Players performing “A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol” at the Cary Arts Center Two performances 3 and 7:30 PM

Dec 1 The Town of Cary Christmas Tree Lighting 6 PM at CaryTown Hall, including entertainment Free

Dec 16 Waverly Place’s Seventh Annual Tree Lighting 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Entertainment for all ages, starting at 6 PM on the main stage.

Nov 16-Nov 18 Winter Wonderland Park West Village in Cary hosts the Magical Winter Lights show, with holiday lights, Snow My Yard providing snow for sledding, a train and Santa! Free 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

Nov 30 Morrisville’s Tree Lighting at the Indian Creek Greenway Trailhead. Free 7 PM.

Nov 28 – Dec 1 Cary Academy’s Holiday Shoppe unique crafts, and food holiday shopping with over 100 hand chosen vendors. Free Parking and Entry Check on line for hours. (this is one of my personal favorite events, I pick up a lot of unique gifts for family and friends here)

Dec 6 The Menorah Lighting  Hanukah starts. 5:30 PM with entertainment and, food and kids’ activities. Cary Arts Center 

Dec 7 The Cary Senior Center if you are 55 and older enjoy the holiday potluck lunch. Its potluck so bring some food and a wrapped gift (valued between $5 and $10 for a gift exchange). 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM Free 

Dec 8 The Grinch Candy Cane Hunt Bond Park, kids ages 6-12 can find hidden candy canes. 11 AM 

Dec 8 Cary Christmas Parade Downtown Cary presented by Cary Jaycees 1 PM

Dec 14 Mad Dash Babysitting Cary Teen Council will baby-sit/entertain your 5-10 year old(s)  while you shop or have a night out. Herbert C. Young Community Center. 5:30 to 9:30 PM on Friday,

Dec 28 The 24th Annual Kwanzaa CelebrationFree at the Cary Arts Center with live performances

Nov 23 – Jan 13 The North Carolina Chinese Lantern FestivalMagical is how some of my clients and friends have descriped these displays featuring hundreds of LED creations,Chinese dragon, live performances by acrobats, jugglers, dancers etc. At Koka Booth Amphitheater                                                                   

Dec 2 – Dec 2 The Cary Players perform “A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol” Cary Arts Center.

Dec The Cary Community Choir performing Handel’s Messiah. 7:30 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Call in advance

Dec 4 Very popular The Really Terrible Orchestra of the Triangle at Cary Arts Center. A  mix of comedy and music. 7:30 PM.

Dec 8 at 7:30 pm The Concert Singers of Cary performing their popular Holiday Pops Concert at the Cary Arts Center.

Dec 8 The Nutcracker ballet performed twice on at Cary Academy. fyi- this s the only full length Nutcracker performance in Cary.

Dec 9 The Triangle Wind Ensemble will be playing a holiday-themed concert at 3 PM at the Cary Arts Center.

Dec 13 Winterfest Concert at the Cary Senior Center with the Cary Town Band playing holiday music. Reserved for seniors 50 and over. Free starts at 7:30 PM

Dec 14, 15 and 16 .Cary Ballet Company’s performing The Nutcracker Suite at The Cary Arts Center Call for times 

Dec 21 and 22, the Campaneria Ballet Company dances the Nutcracker Suite at the Cary Arts Center.
