I love October, with her cooler days and evenings. Its time to turn the AC off and open up the windows…..for some fresh air.

SAS Championship Golf Tournament starts with qualifiers on the 8th  http://www.saschampionship.com/ with the main event 11-14. Must have tickets Prestonwood Golf and Country Club in Cary / Morrisville #SAS #PrestonwoodGolfTournament

First Friday, downtown Raleigh…if you haven’t ever been, its so fun, Art Galleries throw open their doors, bands on the streets, street food, food trucks.

Triangle Parade of Homes starts this weekend and runs for three weekends. If you are looking for decorating ideas or for a new home or just like ‘looking’ take this opportunity to look at some beautiful homes Its one of my favorite events.


Cary –Bands, Bites and Boats at Bond Park: 4-7 Fred Bond Park,once a month the Boathouse has musicians, food trucks and after-hours boat rentals. This is the weekend.

Bass Lake Day The festival includes interactive exhibits on falconry, bow hunting, native wildlife, fire safety, gardening etc. There will be live music, crafts and games

Wendell Harvest Festival

Sat., Oct. 6 Downtown Wendell
The Harvest Festival starts with a fun parade and then stroll through downtown enjoying vendors, food trucks and the activities planned for this popular event.There is even a pumpkin derby!

The Festival of Lights, is a fun, cultural event in India that marks the beginning of the New Year. Cary’s includes music, dance, Indian food etc. Its capped with a fireworks show over Symphony Lake in the evening

Park West Village Fall Festival

Thurs., Oct. 25, Park West Village Morrisville/Cary
Enjoy a night of trick-or-treating, hayrides and a free outdoor screening of a child friendly Halloween movie at Park West Village. There is a costume contest for both kids and families. Bring a blanket or chairs for the movie (begins at dark, roughly 6:45pm)

State Fair

N.C. State Fair Thurs., Oct. 11 to Oct. 21! If you are new, you have to go…its so fun.Parking is free in certain lots too.


North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival-Cary

Nov. 23, 2018- Jan. 13, 2019, in Cary at Koka Booth Amphitheatre
Not to be missed, the North Carolina Lantern Festival with more than 20 displays, thousands of LED lights. My favorite, the Chinese Dragon on Symphony Lake. This year you will also experience traditional Chinese performances and crafts.
